Chicagoans dreaming of a white Christmas are likely out of luck this year—if predictions from the National Weather Service are any indication, it’s going to be a rainy and mild holiday in the Windy City.

Soggy conditions in store for Christmas Day
Chicago is off to a mild start for the week, with a high of 42 degrees Monday. The temperate conditions will likely stick around for much of the week, with highs in the mid to low 40s Tuesday and Wednesday.
Come Christmas Day on Thursday, Chicago will see foggy and rainy conditions with a high of 44 degrees. Patches of drizzle will continue on and off for much of the day with a 20% chance of precipitation over all.

Things will warm up even further come the post-Christmas weekend. Friday will see a high of 51 degrees and clear skies, while Saturday will top out at 49 degrees.
Come Sunday, temperatures will take a dive, for a high of 35 degrees and partly sunny conditions.
All in all, Christmas in the Windy City will be feeling a bit more like spring than winter this year.
