Chicago Botanic Garden’s Enchanting ‘Lightscape’ Experience Will Return This November

Let there be light!

Chicago Botanic Garden’s popular Lightscape event is returning this November for its third season giving Chicagoans a light at the end of the tunnel after a tumultuous year— or rather, a literal light tunnel.

After debuting in 2019, the immersive, after-hours trail of twinkling lights has been a complete sell-out in its first two seasons and we’re expecting this year to be much the same. Teaming up with renowned local and international artists, Lightscape offers visitors an electrifying experience and a must-do winter activity.

This year guests will find a new-and-improved experience adorned with favorites from the last two years and completely new features and installations. The 1.25-mile pathway will include the magical 110-foot tunnel made up of 100,000 shimmering lights, the enchanting fire garden, and the forest of illumination with numerous trees covered in dazzling bulbs that “sing” holiday songs.

“The popular holiday event is back, with a new path and exciting new delights! We’ve got inventive new installations and all your favorites too. Hum along to the melodic tunes of the singing trees. Surround yourself in the twinkling glow of the Winter Cathedral, and find new features that shine with all the colors imaginable. This holiday season set a merry mood with friends and family,” Chicago Botanic Gardens wrote on their website.

Returning on Friday, November 12, Lightscape will run until January 3, and tickets vary depending on membership and booking date. Members tickets range from $24-$26 for adults and $12-$14 for children aged 3-12 while non-members tickets are $26-$28 and $13-$15. Children under 3 can enter for free.

Note that tickets will be timed in 15-minute increments to stagger visitors for a better experience and Lightscape will be closed on November 25, December 24, and December 25.

More information and tickets can be found at chicagobotanic.org/lightscape or by calling the Customer Call Center(847) 835-6801.
