Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards have named Chicago the Best Big City in America for 2025. Chicago has held the prestigious title for 9 consecutive years, since 2017.
Why Chicago is America’s Best Big City
The prestigious award represents votes from 757,000 global travelers, according to Choose Chicago.
Voters reportedly provided feedback on Chicago’s culture, attractions, and hospitality. The Windy City received high ratings for family-friendliness, ADA accessibility, affordability, and other factors.
“A world-class destination known for its impressive architecture, first-rate museums, brilliant chefs, and massive brewing scene, it’ll take several repeat visits to get through your list of must-dos,” wrote Condé Nast Traveler.
“…there are 77 neighborhoods to explore, where you’ll find cutting-edge restaurants, chilled-out corner bars, and, no matter where you go, some of the most pleasant people you’ll find anywhere.”
