After weeks of sweltering heat, Chicago has enjoyed a few days of low humidity and 70-degree-temps.
But don’t get too comfortable—the heat is about to return with a vengeance.
Forecasts show back-to-back days of heat indexes surpassing 100 degrees this weekend in Chicago.
Here’s a breakdown of the predictions.
100+ degree heat indexes beginning this weekend
A third major summer heatwave will impact Chicago beginning late this weekend and into next week.
Friday will be our last day of temperate conditions and low humidity for the weekend, with a high of only 78 degrees.
Come Saturday, things will take a turn for the warmer for a high of 82 degrees and a RealFeel temperature of 84 degrees, according to predictions from Accuweather.
Sunday is when the heat really kicks up a notch, for a high of 91 degrees and a RealFeel index of 101 degrees and high humidity.
Heading into next week, conditions will worsen Monday as the high reaches 94 degrees with a staggering RealFeel index of 105 degrees.
Oppressive humidity is also expected, along with a chance of thunderstorms.
Temperatures will remain in the low to mid 80s for much of next week, so it’s safe to say the heat is here to stay for now.
