Whether you’re a lifelong Chicagoan or a Windy City transplant, you may own a Chicago skyline-themed debit card from Chase Bank.
Well, pretty soon your card could be a sought-after collectible—Chase has announced it will phase out the card design in 2026.
Here’s what we know.
So long Chicago skyline cards

The Chase Chicago skyline debit card has been a citywide fixture for decades, according to multiple reports. But as of February 13, 2026, the national bank has officially discontinued the design.
A Chase spokesperson told WGN that Chicago is the only city across its US market which has a debit card featuring the local skyline.
Chase determined that the current image is outdated and that a redesign would require a “significant investment,” according to reports.
The company has stated that current customers can continue to use their Chicago-themed debit cards until their expiration date. So for some, the official cutoff date could be years out.
Local cardholders took to the internet to express dismay over the announcement, with one Facebook user writing, “Time to switch banks.”
Another user pointed out that local banking company Wintrust offers its own Chicago-themed card—so for diehard fans of the design, there’s another option!
