The weather in Chicago has certainly not been cooperative over the past few weeks. With strong winds and varying degrees of temperatures, summer feels months away.
And somehow, it seems it may get even worse as we approach the weekend.
ABC7 meteorologist Jaisol Martinez reported earlier today that smoke and hazy skies are expected to move into the Chicago area tomorrow morning and early afternoon.
Canadian wildfires are impacting Chicago
This is due to the 22 active wildfires in the Canadian province of Manitoba, which has now declared a state of emergency. The fire, which started on Monday, is just north of neighboring Saskatchewan and has rapidly expanded in size.
Currently, no air quality alerts have been issued in Chicago; however, this may change by tomorrow morning, as warmer temperatures are predicted for Friday and through the weekend, which could worsen air quality.
As for the fires, officials have stated firefighters from across Canada are assisting in combating the flames.
