Caleb Williams may be known as the “Iceman,” but he recently shared a surprising opinion on Chicago-style pizza. While speaking with the Kelce brothers on their “New Heights” podcast, the Chicago Bears quarterback revealed that his favorite pizza in Chicago isn’t deep dish.

“I actually had a Chicago tavern-style pizza, and I don’t know if this is a popular choice or not, but it was honestly the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life,” Williams stated.
When asked to name the restaurant where he enjoyed this pizza, Williams mentioned that he got his slice from Zarella Pizzeria & Taverna in downtown Chicago.
It makes sense—the thin, crisp, tavern-style pizzas are some of the best we’ve had in the city. You can’t go wrong with whatever tavern-style pie you choose, as they are all perfectly executed.
“It’s insane. It’s actually insane,” he told Travis and Jason Kelce.
In response, Zarella Pizzeria shared a clip of the podcast moment on social media, captioning it, “Game respects game.” They also thanked Williams, saying, “@ayeeecaleb, thanks for the shoutout on @newheightshow. Our door’s always open!”
