The team behind Michelin-starred restaurant Galit has debuted a new all-day café concept in Lincoln Park.
Located at 2431 N. Lincoln Ave., Café Yaya channels the award-winning restaurant’s Middle Eastern flair. With Chef Zach Engel at the helm, the counter-service café offers light bites, coffee, and wine in a bistro-style setting.
“We’re thrilled to officially open our doors and welcome the neighborhood in,” said Engel in a statement.
“Café Yaya is all about creating a space where everyone feels at home…We’re excited to be part of this vibrant community and share in the moments that make this neighborhood so special.”
By morning, guests can stop by for a fluffy slice of challah bread, crispy baklava, or other treats paired with a hot cup of joe from Sparrow Coffee Roastery.
By night, Café Yaya serves à la carte plates, with highlights like Bulgarian feta dip, raw and grilled oysters, duck confit, and charcuterie.

Drawing inspiration from the sidewalk bistros of Paris and Tel Aviv, the Café Yaya team hopes to cultivate a welcoming, casual environment—perfect for gathering any time of day.
The café will host private events on the second floor, with plans to roll out lunch service and weekend brunch in the coming weeks. Be sure to swing by next time you’re in the neighborhood.
