Bub City, a country music-themed barbecue restaurant in River North is set to host a Malört Festival on July 14th.
The owners of Bub City are such big Malört fans that they decided to host a unique Malört-centric festival For those attending Bub City’s Barrel Aged Malört Fest on Thursday, July 14th, you’ll have a chance to try out plenty of specialties made drinks, like Bub City’s own barrel-aged Malört, which has been stored for six months in Jeppson’s Bourbon barrels.
Other drinks include the “Malortian” (a twist on the Cosmopolitan) that instead swaps vodka for Malört, a new lemonade beer that’s been aged in Malört barrels, called Second Hand Freedom (That just made its debut from Revolution Brewing, an Avondale-based brewing company!) and Malört Jell-O shots of course.
The Marlot fun doesn’t stop there. Aside from the drink options, the festival will also feature unique food options like mini Chicago-style hot dogs and pretzels, served with special Malört mustard, and a Malört-infused Carolina Gold-style BBQ sauce.
The creative, and drink-filled festival is in partnership with CH Distillery, a popular West Loop distillery, and has been in the works since a reel featuring the popular jello shots went viral on Bub City’s Instagram! Talk about a perfect pairing.
Bottles of the first-ever Jeppson’s Single Barrel Bourbon Barrel Aged Malört will be available for purchase at the event. Tickets for the festival are $50 with the event starting at 5 PM and going until 8 PM. Remember, have fun and drink up!
