There’s a reason Brookfield Zoo is a must-visit destination during the winter months. You can see over 3,400 animals, including a recent litter of African Painted Dog puppies. Whether you’re interested in reptiles, mammals, or amphibians, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Yet, it can sometimes cost a chunk of change, which is why we appreciate the zoo expanding its free days this winter. Two free days remain in 2025: Monday, December 22, and Tuesday, December 23.

If you can’t make it, don’t worry! More opportunities for free admission will be available.
Winter free days will resume on January 5 and run through February 28, with free admission on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
However, two days do not apply: Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Monday, January 19) and Presidents’ Day (Monday, February 16).
Brookfield Zoo general admission prices:
- $20.95 – 3 to 11 years old
- $29.95 – 12 to 64 years old
- $24.95 – 65 years old and above
