After 47 years of delicacies, Chicago’s Bridgeport Bakery will be shuttering at the end of Oct. Bakery owner Ron Pavelka has been supplying locals and Chicago coffee shops with delicious desserts since 1972 and says it’s time to retire
The cozy, Chicago favorite is known for its Polish style pastries as well as bacon buns and other donuts. Paczkis are a local favorite that locals line up outside the door for, especially on weekends. As the shop closes its doors, expect droves of loyal customers dropping by to pay their respects and grab a tasty treat. Bridgeport Bakery is a staple in the neighborhood that will sorely be missed.
“It has been a great 47 years of business. We appreciate everyone. We thank you for your kindness, your thoughts and prayers, and especially your business, we are truly grateful,” the bakery said, announcing their closing on Facebook. It’s sad to see the closing of a local business as beloved by the community as Bridgeport Bakery, but we’re thankful for the 47 years of deliciousness we got to enjoy along the way.
Bridgeport Bakery is located at 2707 S Archer St. Chicago, IL and is open 5am-1pm Sun-Mon, 5am-6pm Tue-Thurs, and 5am-5:30pm Sat.
