Pop superstar Billie Eilish has opened up about some of her favorite places to eat when on tour, and a number of Chicago restaurants made her list.
A proud vegan, the 22-year-old has teamed up with Google Maps to guide fans towards sustainable food options on her upcoming “Hit Me Hard and Soft” tour. Here are a few of Billie’s favorite vegan restaurants in Chicago!
Liberation Kitchen
Liberation Kitchen is among Eilish’s favorite vegan restaurants in Chicago, and it’s no wonder why! Formerly known as Upton’s Breakroom, the vegan cafe features a wide range of creative plant-based dishes.
Some of Liberation Kitchen’s fan-favorite options include their vegan Fried Bacon Mac n’ Cheese, plant-based Italian Beef sandwich, and tofu Banh Mi. Liberation also offers vegan treats like donuts and oat milkshakes.
The Chicago Diner
The Chicago Diner is perhaps one of the Windy City’s most tried and true vegan institutions, and Billie loves it too!
Since 1983, The Chicago Diner has been serving up vegetarian and vegan spins on classic comfort food. Hungry diners can enjoy dishes like the signature Radical Reuben sandwich, Pierogi Quesadilla, Poutine, and other delectable plant-based plates.
Bloom Plant Based Kitchen
Next on Billie’s list is Bloom Plant Based Kitchen, an elevated vegan restaurant with a unique tasting format. Bloom’s menu features fine dining staples like sashimi, steak frites, and charcuterie, all reimagined for a vegan customer base.
The Black Vegan
For a quick and affordable vegan bite, Billie recommends checking out The Black Vegan. The women-owned restaurant is best known for its 290 Burger, with vegan provolone and Italian Beef made from oyster mushrooms. Other specials include Jackfruit Sliders, Portabella Wings, and Tofu Ribs.
Sundrip
Sundrip is Billie’s go-to spot for health-focused vegan dishes, like plant-based sushi rolls, veggie noodles, acai bowls, and fresh pressed juices. Sundrip’s mission highlights the health benefits of a vegan diet and the importance of sustainable food choices in supporting our environment.
Planta Queen
Next among Billie’s top picks for cruelty-free eats is Planta Queen. The restaurant offers an elevated vegan menu with Asian fusion flavors. Menu highlights include Planta Queen’s fan-favorite “Bang Bang Broccoli,” Truffle Fried Rice, Chili Garlic Tofu, and Avocado Lime Tartare.
Ingrained
Last on Billie’s list, but certainly not least, is Ingrained sweets and snacks. The women-owned snack shop specializes in healthy vegan treats, including cookies, protein-packed ice cream bars, plant butter cups, and protein balls. Head to Ingrained for a sustainable snack that’s sure to satisfy your sweet tooth.
