A sprawling film festival is taking over the Music Box Theatre from April 2 – 5, promising a full weekend of thrilling feature flicks and multiple no-cost screenings.

Beyond Chicago at the Music Box
Beyond Fest, the biggest genre film festival in the U.S., and the Music Box Theatre have teamed up for a special edition of the fest dubbed “Beyond Chicago.”
Billed as “four days of all-killer-no-filler cinematic chaos and carnage,” the festival lineup features 30 feature films spanning sci-fi, horror, cult classics, and more.
The lineup also includes a double feature, special guest appearances, and Q&A sessions with various participating writers, directors, and actors.

A dozen screenings are free with reservation, including flicks like “The Yeti,” “Speed Racer,” and “Camp.”
Tickets are still available for standard and free screenings, but seats are filling up quickly.
