A recent report from GOBankingRates.com highlighted Burr Ridge, Illinois, as the most livable place for retirees.
The company compiled a list of 50 U.S. towns with a population of at least 10,000, where 33 percent or more of the population is aged 65 or older, and then ranked them based on overall livability.

Burr Ridge ranked firm at No. 17, making it the highest-rated community on the list. This suburban community, with a population of 11,000, boasts many restaurants, cafes, and parks, making it a lovely residence for retirees in the Midwest to settle down. At the same time, it is only 20 miles from Chicago, providing easy access to the city.
The town received a livability score of 75 out of 100. The median household income in Burr Ridge is $154,508, and 35.82 percent of its residents are of retirement age. However, buying a home in Burr Ridge is quite expensive, with a median home price of $826,883.
