Conde Nast Traveler just released their 37th annual Readers’ Choice Awards, and once again, Chicago took home the #1 spot. I mean, are we really surprised?
Readers vote on the annual report in various categories, and more than half a million people participated this year. Of course, we’re elated to hear that everyone considers Chicago the “Best Big City in the U.S.” What’s even better is that it’s our eighth consecutive year being #1.
Here’s what they had to say:
A world-class destination known for its impressive architecture, first-rate museums, brilliant chefs, and massive brewing scene, it’ll take several repeat visits to get through your list of must-dos. Most people start downtown—from the Magnificent Mile to the ritzy Gold Coast to funky Old Town—but there are 77 neighborhoods to explore.
Between the cutting-edge restaurants and local neighborhood bars, Chicago is the quintessential destination and the perfect living place.
San Diego, Milwaukee, New Orleans, Washington D.C., San Francisco, Boston, Columbus, New York, and Miami rounded out the remainder of the top 10.
Readers’ Choice Awards also has “Best Small Cities” categories, with Charleston, South Carolina, taking home the crowned spot.
