Bookworms in Chicago, today is your lucky day—Barnes & Noble just opened its newest Chicago storefront in the heart of the Loop.
The big box bookstore has officially set up shop at 150 N. State Street, a retail space which formerly housed an Old Navy and a Borders bookstore.
Storegoers will have access to more than 20,000 square feet of books, plus toys, gifts, magazines, and other commodities.
“We are delighted to restore this wonderful building as a home to a major bookstore,” said CEO James Daunt in a statement.
“Returning to The Loop reinforces a significant commitment to Chicago where we have now opened four new bookstores in the last year.”
The development comes as part of a broader local expansion for the brand. Barnes & Noble has recently which has launched stores in Wicker Park and the suburbs.
Barnes & Noble operates one other Loop storefront, located within the DePaul student center at 1 E Jackson Blvd.
