Planning the ultimate tropical getaway this summer?
You can skip the airport lines and beat the hassle with this limited-time Amtrak route from Chicago to Miami!
Here’s the rundown on the Floridian route.
Chicago to Miami by train

Amtrak’s Floridian route is a temporary throughway connecting the Windy City to Miami over the course of a 47 hour trip.
That may sound like a lot, but trust—the journey is part of the experience!
Along the route, the Floridian makes stops in Pittsburgh, Washington D.C., Savannah, and 43 other cities.
Riders can also take advantage of luxury accommodations including sleeper cars, wi-fi access, dining service, and more.

But here’s the catch—the Floridian route is only available for a short time.
The route is the product of the East River Tunnel Rehabilitation Project in New York City, which has halted access to Amtrak’s Silver Star line connecting the big Apple to Miami.
Once the project wraps in 2027, the Floridian route from Chicago will be no more.
So now is the time to climb aboard for the train trip of a lifetime. Click here to learn more and start planning your getaway.
