If you haven’t been to Lake Geneva, now is the time. The charming resort town in southeastern Wisconsin is known for its stunning landscapes and rich history, which dates back to the Gilded Age.
While many may not consider it a destination for “adventure,” connecting with nature doesn’t always require a strenuous hike. Sometimes, a leisurely stroll near a resort can be just as enjoyable.
This summer, the Abbey Resort is showing Lake Geneva in a whole new way with the launch of its guided Lakeside Stroll & Estate Tour.
The ideal summer experience: Lakeside Stroll & Estate Tour
The tour includes a four-hour journey that begins at the shores of The Abbey Resort. It then follows along the iconic Geneva Lake Shore Path.
Led by an expert local guide, this four-mile walk is filled with stories about the area’s history, from the Native Americans to the notable estates and families that have shaped the region.
The walk concludes at the historic Black Point Estate, which was built in 1888 as a summer retreat for Chicago beer baron Conrad Seipp.
Once there, guests are served lunch from The Abbey Resort on the estate’s veranda overlooking the manicured grounds and waters of Geneva Lake.

Black Point Tours Highlights:
- Guided 4-mile tour along Geneva Lake Shore Path from The Abbey to Black Point Estate
- Box lunch including sandwich, chips, dessert, and water
- Guided tour of Black Point Estate’s first floor
- Shuttle service back to The Abbey Resort
- $50 per person
Tours are available on select Thursdays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, and reservations are required. Due to the varied terrain, this experience is recommended only for guests who are comfortable walking four miles. Comfortable shoes, water bottles, and sun protection are strongly encouraged.
