Halloween is almost here, and the Music Box Theatre is keeping the scares coming through the end of October with daily horror screenings.
The historic theater at 3733 N. Southport Ave. has dressed up for its annual Music Box of Horrors series, filling the venue with cobwebs, skeletons, and carved pumpkins. With the month entering its final stretch, there’s still time to settle into the auditorium for a spooky night at the movies.
A final week of big-screen scares
The lineup spans new releases, familiar favorites, and lesser-known horror films, with titles including Dracula aka Horror of Dracula and Halloween. Many selections screen on 35mm film using the theater’s vintage Century projection equipment, adding an old-school touch to the experience.
