Chicagoans can take home a furry friend and honor Dolly Parton thanks to a limited-time offer from local animal shelter Anti-Cruelty this month.
The downtown pet adoption center is hosting the Dolly Parton “9 to 5” Adoption Event in celebration of the late singer on Friday, September 25.
For one day, prospective pet owners can adopt the perfect four-legged companion for an adoption fee of only $9.25.
Guests can also donate a book in exchange for having their adoption fee waived entirely, a tribute to Parton’s Imagination Library initiative which gifts free books to children across the U.S.
