As we approach the final weekend of July, it’s hard to believe the month is almost over! However, there are plenty of exciting activities to enjoy on the summer nights in Chicago.
Before diving into Lollapalooza, there’s a festival happening this weekend that you won’t want to miss—the 46th Annual Chinatown Summer Fair.
The 46th Chinatown Summer Fair returns to Chicago’s Wentworth Avenue
Stretching from Wentworth to Cermak Avenue, this free street festival attracts over 40,000 attendees each year for two days of live performances, authentic cuisine, local vendors, and cultural traditions that celebrate the rich heritage of Chicago’s Chinatown.
The festival will take place on Saturday from 11 AM to 10 PM and on Sunday from 10 AM to 7 PM. The event kicks off with a lion dance procession at 12:30 PM, followed by a welcome ceremony on the main stage at 1 PM.
Expect a variety of Asian performances, kung fu demonstrations, food samples from Chinatown’s restaurants, unique gift shops, arts and crafts exhibits, street vendors with an array of merchandise, and a dedicated children’s area.
